Master key systems explained
A master key system lets each person carry one key that opens only what they need, while a master key opens everything. Designed well, it removes the key ring problem entirely and makes staff changes simple.
Designed badly, it becomes a security hole. We map out who needs access to what before cutting anything, and we document the system so it can be expanded later without starting again.
Exit hardware and compliance
Businesses have obligations under building and fire regulations regarding egress. A door that is locked in a way that traps people is both a safety hazard and a liability. - Yes. Most commercial installation work is booked outside business hours so your operations are not disrupted. After-hours rates apply and are quoted upfront.
- How does key control work?
- With a restricted system, blanks are patented and can only be cut by the authorised locksmith against a signed authority list you control. Staff cannot copy keys at a hardware store.
